Two longtime Glenmorrie residents passed away recently, and we’ve been asked to share details about the upcoming services for both of them.
Chris Wetteland lived at the corner of Glenmorrie Drive and Stonebridge Way with his wife, Dolores. He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 2. There will be a memorial and celebration of life service at 2 p.m. this Wednesday, May 20, at River View Cemetery, 0300 S.W. Taylor Ferry Rd., Portland, OR, 97219. A write-up on the River View site notes that there will be music, and guests are encouraged to bring “a joyful memory of Chris.”
George Mackin was an original resident from Glenmorrie Terrace. He moved to Mary’s Woods about seven years ago, but Glenmorrie long-timers are sure to remember him. A service for him will be held at 11 a.m. May 29 at Mary’s Woods, 17400 Holy Names Drive, Lake Oswego, OR, 97034. It will be followed by a buffet lunch. There may also be a military service afterward, but that has yet to be confirmed. According to information submitted to the neighborhood association, George was a World War II veteran who flew over 30 missions out of England over Germany. He passed away Thursday, May 7.
