Meeting for Proposed Development of 34 Homes Near Marylhurst

3J Consulting, the company representing Lennar Homes — a builder that has proposed a 34-home subdivision near Upper Midhill Drive in Marylhurst — is holding a meeting about the proposal at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. The meeting will be held at the Robinwood Station Community Center, 3706 Cedaroak Drive in West Linn.

The meeting will likely share information about the proposed development. The consulting firm will also be asking neighbors to sign a petition that would vacate a dedicated right of way on a portion of Upper Midhill Road. According to the city of West Linn planning department, the applicants are moving forward in their efforts to try and vacate the ROW as a precursor to applying for the subdivision. Vacating the ROW requires all abutting property owners, as well as two-thirds of owners in the affected area, to support it.

Residents in the Glenmorrie Neighborhood could be impacted by the increased traffic, congestion,  runoff and other effects of such a development. In addition, the proposed subdivision would require the removal of a substantial amount of trees. A nearby resident has started a Facebook page to raise awareness of the project and the potential loss of the forested land, which includes a number of significant oaks and Douglas firs.

More information can be found in the City of West Linn’s Pre-Application Conference Summary from the conference held on April 17, 2014.
